Yes. The free tier is funded by the optional ads on our earn pages. You only ever see ads when you choose to earn bonus requests — the API, dashboard, and docs are ad-free. No credit card, ever.
How do rate windows work?
Instead of credits that run out, you get rolling windows: 50 requests per 5 hours and 200 per 7 days on free. They refill automatically as time passes. Bonus requests you earn are spent only after a window is full.
Is it compatible with the OpenAI SDK?
Fully. Set base_url to https://api.atlasbrain.cloud/v1 and use your Atlas key. Chat completions, streaming, and the models list all behave like the OpenAI API.
Do you train on or store my prompts?
We don't train foundation models and we never sell your data. Requests are forwarded to upstream providers to generate your response, and to improve answer quality we may log request and response content as pseudonymized Improvement Data — keyed to a one-way hash, never your name or email. API callers can opt out per request with "store": false. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
What are the limits on earning bonuses?
Each earn method has a daily cap to keep things fair (shown live on your dashboard's earn page). Earned bonuses stack and don't expire with the rate windows.
What happens if the service is overloaded?
You get an honest 429 or 503 with a JSON error — never a silent failure. Check /status for live availability, and streaming requests are prioritized to return immediately.
